Meet our Manager
With years of hands-on experience in dog training and behavior, Janelle is the dedicated manager of Alder Creek Kennel. As the founder of Essuubi K9, she brings a deep understanding of canine psychology, specializing in dog body language and obedience. Janelle is committed to providing top-quality care for every dog that she meets, ensuring a safe, enriching environment for boarders, daycare dogs and trainees. Joined Our Team: Janelle has been with Alder Creek Kennel since December 2024 Why We Love Her: We love Janelle because she is truly an incredible human. Not only is she an outstanding manager with an exceptional knowledge of all things dog, but she is also exactly who we need her to be in any moment. Whether a staff member needs a friend, guidance, or a little good-natured teasing, Janelle is there with open arms and just the right amount of sass. Her Own Pets: Bucky is a four year old Aussie Shepherd, a breed Janelle swore she would never own. He is a certified service dog and Janelle always says she wouldn’t be here without him. He is always ready for a snuggle, cry sesh or a chaotic game of fetch. Breaker is a one year old Mega Mix, he is the dumbest, smart dog in the world, his dopiness makes Janelle smile daily. Fun Facts: -Janelles favourite breed is a pitbull or bully mix -Janelles hobbies include tattooing, learning new languages, and Netflix -A quirky thing about her is that she loves learning about conspiracy theories, especially Big Foot and she is almost convinced. Her Words: “I love working with dogs for so many reasons, but one of my favourite things is watching a dogs confidence grow in real time.”Meet Willow!
Willow — Dog Handler, Assistant Manager and Essuubi K9 Trainer Joined Our Team: Willow has been with Alder Creek Kennel since March 2025 and sadly she will be leaving this summer due to her Fiancé being posted. Why We Love Her:We love Willow because she is authentically and unapologetically herself, she is bubbly, outgoing, and always leads with respect and genuine kindness. You can’t help but feel comfortable to be your true self around Willow. Her Own Pets: Willow has 2 dogs, Basil and Sprig! Basil is a Border collie mix who is full blown crazy pants. Sprig is a new rescue and he is such a cuddle bug. Fun Facts:Willows favourite dog breeds are Border collies and Aussies! Her hobbies include cooking and coming up with social media contentA funny fact about Willow is that she loves walking around town and knowing the dogs she sees by name but she has no clue who the people are. Willow’s Words: I love my job because I love loving other peoples pets as if they were my own. I love creating a fun and safe place for them to be when their pawrents are out and about. My favourite part of the day is getting to be silly with the dogs and getting fun pictures for their owners!Meet Kyle!
Kyle — Dog Handler and future dog bather? Joined Our Team: Kyle has been with Alder Creek Kennel since before we bought it April 2024 Why We Love Him:We love Kyle because he is a big hearted guy. He would genuinely do anything for every dog and is always willing to help out a teammate. Kyle doesn’t just care, he cares deeply. Kyles Pets:Touka is a Shih tzu mix, she is 6 years old and would love even just a minute without her sister bothering her.Lilith is a Beagle, 15 months old and she steals everything from Touka. Fun Facts:Kyles favourite dog breed is a Beagle, and his favourite part of working at ACK is when the dogs are being supper cuddly and he gets to cuddle them. Kyles Words:I love this job because of my amazing coworkers/friends, if I ever need them, they are always there to help. My favourite part of the day is walking in for my shift see and all the pups I get to care for each day.Meet Alexis!
Alexis (Alex, Lexi) — Dog Handler and Walker Joined Our Team: Alex has been with Alder Creek Kennel since before we bought it April 2024 Why We Love Her:We love Alex because of the way she walks into a room and somehow makes everyone feel seen. She’s kind and has no hesitation showing it. Her Pets:Alex has 2 ferrets and a dog! Walker is her first ever owned ferret, he is the absolute sweetest and loves cuddles. Whiskey is my fourth owned ferret and he is by far the craziest. He can’t sit still at all and loves to play. Diesel is an American Bully, he is a big love bug and adores cuddles. Fun Facts:Alex’s favourite hobbies are art and photography. Alex loves drawing mostly dogs and horses, though every now and then she will draw flowers or landscapes. Alex’s favourite part of working with dogs is getting to know them and learning their personalities. Her Words:I love my job because of the friends I’ve made. Everyone is so sweet and are great people to be around. What makes the work meaningful to me is getting to watch nervous/fearful dogs come out of their shell and start to show their cute personality and traits. I also love those more fearful dogs to finally make friends.Meet Emma!
Emma — Dog Handler Joined Our Team: Emma has been with Alder Creek Kennel since September 2024 Why We Love Her:We love Emma because of the gentle and sweet environment she creates every time she walks into a room. Emma is the first to offer a lending hand, but she often catches us off guard with her perfectly timed humour. Emma’s Pets:Emma has a Beagle named Buster, who’s biological sister is owned by Kyle. Emma also has a cat named Echo who she met and adopted while completing her vet tech diploma! Fun Facts:When Emma isn’t at work, she loves spending time with her family and friends. Emma prefers winter over summer, even though she was born in the summer. The most memorable job moment she has had so far was when she and Alex were asked to set up the old Window AC units, which they had never done before. And let’s just say, they aren’t allowed to use duct tape ever again. Emma’s Words:I love my job because I have always loved animals. I love figuring out how they communicate with each other, as well as figuring out how I can have a conversation with them. I find they tend to pretend to understand (I’m not crazy). My favourite part is when a dog comes in nervous, but leaves like their true selves.Meet Keegan!
Keegan — Dog Handler and Walker Joined Our Team: Keegan has been with Alder Creek Kennel since September 2025 Why We Love Him:We haven’t known Keegan long, but he instantly became an important part of our team. Keegan wears his heart on his sleeve, always trying to make us laugh and feel included. We also love Keegan because he has full conversations with the dogs and will do anything to make their stay the very best it can be! His Pets:Although Keegan has been unsuccessful in convincing the other members of his household to get a dog, Keegan does have a cat named Luna. Fun Facts:Keegan’s favourite dog breed is an Irish Wolf Hound or German Shepherd.Keegans hobbies include learning guitar and harmonica. Keegan’s Words:My favourite part of the day is enrichment, getting to spend one on one time with dogs really helps we know them a little bit better!
