Dog daycare
Our daycare provides a safe and stimulating environment for your dog to socialize and exercise while you're away.
Daycare Schedule
A day at Alder Creek Kennel always starts with group play! Dogs will be sorted into groups taking into account who they get along well with, thier activity level, size and state of reproductive organs. Play time will happen outside when weather allows and inside when it doesn't. Some dogs may be outside longer as they each handle weather conditions in their own way. Play time will be supervised at all times ensuring all dogs have a fun and safe experience.
After playtime, the dogs will be brought back into their respective kennels to rest. Dogs from the same household may kennel together if requested. Each dog will get approximately 1-2 hours of rest to ensure they are prepared to continue through their day. All dogs not actively playing with other dogs will get a walk.
Each dog will be rotated out for one on one human time, this will mainly include enrichment. Enrichment is designed to work the dogs mind, this allows for a happier, all around dog because they are both physically and mentally stimulated. Types of enrichment dogs may participate in include; learning to run through tunnels on command, playing fetch, going on a hunt for treats, a lure course, lick mats and kongs, basic obedience, etc. Some dogs will have enrichment that is solely for the mind and other more high energy dogs may get more active versions.
It is important for dogs to not only get along well with other dogs, but to get along with people as well. Research suggests our dogs need five minutes of uninterrupted time with humans each day to feel cared for properly. This human interaction may be as simple as sitting with the dog while it gets some pets or brushing out its fur. After the dogs get their walk, enrichement and rest, they will go back outside for more group play or individual walk. This will also give employees time to get enrichment and walks to any dog they didn't have time for earlier in the day.
After a full day of activity each dog will head home happy and tired between 4 and 6pm. Dog parents will be updated on their dogs day and all the fun they had including pictures, via Alder Creek Kennel booking software.

Important Information
Although all 'people friendly' dogs are invited to stay, we do have some basic rules. Dogs must be properly cared for and groomed to prevent pests from circulating. They must also have all their vaccinations up to date including, Bordetella, Rabies, DAP Vaccine. Due to the proximity of the kennel to wooded land, we highly recommend flea, tick and heartworm prevention. Dogs must be comfortable staying in a kennel on their own for rest times and respond to basic commands such as 'come' and 'stay'. Lastly, dogs must not be destructive of infrastructure.

Bill R“Ruby our Basset hound puppy was so happy with her stay and the staff made special accommodations for her as we had a last minute requirement. The Staff made us feel welcome and Ruby was clean and happy when we picked her up. We were very impressed with the entire first experience and believe we found our forever kennel when needed. After other experiences with different kennels would recommend to anyone thinking about boarding their pet.”
Michele R"My dog loves Alder Creek Kennel. I never have to worry about him when he's there. The staff are very friendly and trustworthy"
